About The Position

The San Diego Padres are seeking a Ballpark Security Supervisor for the Day Shift. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of professionalism, safety, and security for players, talent, employees, and guests at Petco Park. The Supervisor will provide operational leadership to Security Officers, coordinate daily security operations, and respond to incidents. This position also serves as the Security Manager on Duty (MOD) for small-scale events, ensuring effective management of security operations in accordance with department procedures, organizational standards, and Major League Baseball's Best Stadium Operating Practices (MLB BSOP). Requirements

Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
Possess a high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public professionally and effectively
Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
Proficient in computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
Must be available to work five 8-hour flexible shifts per work week (Saturday–Friday), scheduled between 5:00 AM and 10:30 PM. Weekly schedules will vary based on operational needs, Padres games, and special events at Petco Park.
Must be available to work overtime shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed
Must possess BSIS Proprietary Security Guard certification or BSIS Guard Card, or obtain within the first 30 days of employment
Willing and able to travel approximately 10% of scheduled shifts annually
Strong ability to communicate effectively and work well with others in a collaborative, respectful manner
Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds; traverse stairs, steps and ramps
Successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check

Nice To Haves

Experience in report writing
Experience with Motorola Solutions Avigilon CCTV System
Previous experience working in large public assembly facilities
Large event security experience
Completed courses in criminal justice or security training by a recognized academy, school, or organization
Previous Law Enforcement/Public Safety or Military experience
Previous experience in large public assembly facilities is highly desirable
Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish

Responsibilities

Represent the Club in a positive and professional manner
Oversee Daily Security Operations
Supervise 24/7 security staffing and shift coverage
Conduct daily shift briefings
Monitor Avigilon surveillance systems and coordinate incident responses
Ensure security officers utilize Raven Controls Incident Management Software for logs, reports, equipment inventory, preventative maintenance, and shift pass-on reports
Maintain accurate incident logs, investigation reports, and security audits
Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders
Supervise and lead escalated issues with patrons, VIPs, and staff professionally
Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all facility users
Assist in the development and enforcement of Security Protocols
Ensure compliance with organizational standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including those outlined by the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS)
Event Security Planning and Execution
Attend necessary meetings to obtain event operations and disseminate to department staff
Coordinate Ballpark Security support for Padres games, concerts, and other large gatherings
Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and event organizers
Personnel Management
Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of security staff and contractors including Allied Enhanced Protection Explosive Detection Canines
Conduct and participate in ongoing professional development
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Work with the Manager, Ballpark Security and Director, Security & Transportation to implement emergency action plans for fire, medical, and active threat scenarios
Assist in the development of regular drills and post-incident evaluations
Access Control and Perimeter Security
Oversee badge systems, entry checkpoints, and credentialing procedures
Ensure physical barriers and alarm systems are functioning properly
Risk Assessment and Threat Analysis
Identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
Stay informed on emerging threats and adjust protocols accordingly
Technology Integration and Maintenance
Work with IT to ensure cybersecurity measures for security systems
Oversee the upkeep of cameras, alarms, and communication tools
