About The Position

Menasha Corporation is a leader in providing corrugated and plastic packaging products and related services to major global companies through its two businesses, Menasha Packaging and ORBIS Corporation. The Baler Operator position involves tending the machine that compresses and binds paper and corrugated scrap to facilitate handling. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and a safe working manner. The role also requires the ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed, and to work effectively in a production environment with moving equipment and people.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
• Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
• Ability to effectively work in teams
• Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
• Ability to operate hand tools
• Ability to operate forklift

Nice To Haves

• Industrial Truck Operator certificate desired
• Previous baler operator experience desired

Responsibilities

• Cart or carry materials to shredder machine
• Place materials in shredder and then send shredded scrap to the compression chamber of the baling machine
• Move lever or electric switch, causing ram to compress material
• Thread tie bands into baler, which twists or clamps ends of bands to tighten bands
• Weigh bales and record weight
• Remove bales from machine and truck bale to storage place
• Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
