About The Position

The Bakery Team Lead directs and supervises activities of the bakery department and its personnel to meet the department’s merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. This role performs a variety of tasks throughout the store and provides fast, friendly service in a safe, fast-paced environment. The position may involve standing, sitting, lifting and stocking items weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be at least 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol.
Must be able to safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
May be required to accept a part-time position if that is the only position available, for internal transfer, promotion, or rehire candidates.

Responsibilities

Provide fast and friendly customer service.
Use the scale printer machine and ensure weights and pricing are correct.
Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, shelf tags, and shelf signage.
Keep the bench, production area, storage area, and walk-in coolers and freezers clean, neat, and orderly.
Help wrap, box, weigh, slice, finish, and stock bakery products, rotating products as necessary to maintain quality and safety.
Display goods according to bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines.
Take customer orders and ensure they are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Help decorators and bakers personalize cakes and ice cakes, donuts, sweet rolls, and other products.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Direct and supervise bakery department activities and personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service goals.
