About The Position

The Bakery Team Lead executes a wide variety of tasks throughout the store and effectively directs and supervises the activities of the bakery department and its personnel to achieve the department’s merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. This is a responsible, customer-focused role requiring the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

The role includes assisting with bakery production and merchandising, maintaining clean and orderly work and storage areas, handling customer orders, and supporting decorators and bakers. Candidates must be at least 18 years old; positions serving alcohol require employees to be at least 21. For internal transfers, promotions, or rehires, the current leader must recommend the candidate and provide an endorsement upon HR request. An internal candidate may be asked to accept a part-time position if that is the only position available; rehires require HRBP approval.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be at least 21 years of age for any position that serves alcohol.
• Able to work safely in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
• For internal transfers or promotions, the current leader must recommend the candidate and provide an endorsement upon request from HR.
• Rehires must be approved by an HRBP.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast and friendly customer service.
• Use the scale printer machine and ensure weights and pricing are correct.
• Monitor product pricing, signage, placement, shelf tags, and shelf signage.
• Keep the bench, production area, storage area, walk-in coolers, and freezers clean, neat, and orderly.
• Assist with wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery products, rotating products as necessary to ensure quality and safety.
• Display goods according to bakery department and/or merchandising guidelines.
• Take customer orders and ensure they are completed on time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
• Assist decorators and bakers with cake personalization and icing cakes, donuts, sweet rolls, and other products.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Direct and supervise bakery department activities and personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service goals.
