At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Bakery Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Bakery Department. This role involves managing the daily output, baking, production, and display of bakery products. The manager will supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget. They will evaluate department conditions and operations to identify strengths and areas for improvement, developing better practices and procedures. Ensuring company standards for safety, proper food handling, sanitation, and productivity are maintained is crucial. The role includes responsibility for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage, as well as executing merchandise rotation and display building. The manager is responsible for managing department inventory, in-stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards. They will plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit. Additionally, the Bakery Manager will engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, making recommendations on merit increases via bi-annual performance reviews. They will regularly attend and participate in in-store meetings, recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager. The role requires confidently exercising independent judgment to address Team Member concerns and taking/documenting corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance. Ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels is also a key responsibility. The manager will communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members and lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience. The Bakery Manager will also serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
