About The Position

The Bakery Manager supervises the bakery department to ensure Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained. The role is responsible for meeting the department’s sales, shrink, and profit goals; maintaining inventory and supplies; and ensuring products meet company quality standards. The manager also oversees sanitation and safety, supports bakery staff through guidance and training, and maintains labor and scheduling standards. The position includes hands-on bakery work such as product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as needed. Other duties may be assigned by management, and the role performs PA announcements.

Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and direction.
Knowledge of bakery operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from bakery department staff.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the bakery department.
Maintain desired levels of inventory and supplies.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help bakery department hosts meet satisfactory performance standards.
Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Perform PA announcements.
