The Bakery Manager directs and controls the operation of the Bakery Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. They champion corporate and division customer service programs, plan and organize day-to-day operations, and conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with product quality, sanitation, safety, and security requirements. The role involves overseeing and assisting with all bakery department duties, implementing promotional displays, preventing shrink, controlling expenses, and maintaining accurate records. The manager is responsible for ordering, checking, receiving, and controlling inventory to ensure product quality and freshness, as well as proper merchandising and compliance with all regulations. They also handle customer relations, special orders, suggestive selling, and ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the department. Additionally, the Bakery Manager supervises, motivates, directs, trains, and participates in the hiring of Bakery Department personnel, monitors associate performance, and identifies high-potential associates for advancement. They schedule personnel, communicate sales goals, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, reporting any violations to the Store Director. The role also involves responding to incoming calls, resolving customer complaints, and attending required training and meetings. Performing all job duties with honesty and integrity is essential.
