This position exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. The Bakery Manager directs and controls the operation of the Bakery Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. This role champions corporate and division customer service programs, plans, organizes, and directs day-to-day operations of the Bakery Department, and conducts daily inspections to ensure compliance with product quality, code date standards, sanitation, safety, and security requirements. The manager also oversees and assists with all bakery department duties, implements promotional displays, prevents shrink, controls expenses, and maintains accurate records. They are responsible for ordering, checking, receiving, and controlling inventory, stocking and rotating product, and maintaining department records. The manager ensures product quality and merchandising standards are met, complies with labeling laws and regulations, and follows company policy. They assist customers with special orders, engage in suggestive selling, and ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the department. The manager also implements emergency procedures, supervises, motivates, directs, trains, and participates in hiring Bakery Department personnel, monitors associate performance, and schedules personnel. They communicate sales goals and department performance to associates, resolve associate complaints, and report policy violations. The manager is responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
