The Bakery Manager directs and controls the operation of the Bakery Department to achieve sales and profit objectives. This includes championing corporate and division customer service programs, planning and organizing daily operations, conducting inspections, overseeing bakery duties, implementing promotions, preventing shrink, controlling expenses, and maintaining accurate records. The manager is also responsible for ordering, stocking, rotating product, maintaining inventory, conducting inventories, and ensuring product quality and merchandising standards are met. Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies is essential. The role involves assisting customers with special orders, making product suggestions, engaging in suggestive selling, and ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the department. Additionally, the manager supervises, motivates, trains, and participates in the hiring of department personnel, monitors associate performance, identifies high-potential associates for advancement, and schedules staff to ensure adequate coverage. Communication of sales goals and department performance to associates is key, as is resolving associate complaints and reporting policy violations. The position requires performing all job duties with honesty and integrity.
