About The Position

Join our Festival Foods team as a Bakery Evening Supervisor! Are you passionate about bakery food-service operations and excited to lead a retail pastry team in the evening hours? Join us as a Bakery Evening Supervisor and help ensure our Bakery department remains fully stocked with fresh, delightful products. In this role, you’ll support our team and ensure an exceptional experience for our customers and associates during the evening shift. Our bakery plays a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable experiences for guests' events and everyday moments alike, ranging from special occasions to everyday indulgences.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service and work effectively with guests and team members.
  • Oral and written communication skills and the ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of retail food service, bakery and pastry operations, with a strong understanding of food service standards and practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training and safety policies to handle equipment and recognize and react potential hazards effectively.
  • Stand in place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly (70% of the time).
  • Full range of upper body motion.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis (30% of the time).
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures (20% of the time).

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks assigned by Bakery Manager, and lead the Bakery department in the absence of the Bakery Manager, assisting with important tasks and providing effective leadership.
  • Reinforce our Festival culture, guest service, and performance expectations to all evening Bakery associates.
  • Develop associates and provide excellent guest service.
  • Handle each interaction with professionalism and care.
  • Onboard new evening Bakery clerks and cleaners, providing them with the training and support they need to succeed.
  • Answer associate questions & provide guidance.
  • Offer feedback to the Bakery Manager and Assistant Manager on evening associates’ performance.
  • Ensure all department standards are met by monitoring the sales floor, prep area, back room, cooler, and freezer conditions.
  • Take action to address any areas of opportunity.
  • Assist guests in finding items, taking cake and special orders, and providing excellent service.
  • Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and help your team with packaging, labeling, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
  • Keep supplies replenished, maintain food safety logs, and meet quality standards, including quantity expectations by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
  • Other duties as assigned.
