About The Position

New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Bakery/Deli Manager at our Food Store in Valleyview, Alberta. Co-op does business differently. Requirements

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Enthusiastic approach to work with strong organizational skills
  • Must be responsible and possess great leadership skills
  • Experience managing a team in a retail environment
  • Kitchen/food preparation experience required
  • Practical working knowledge of daily retail operations
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Available to work on a very flexible schedule with the ability to work up to 50 hours weekly

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail bakery experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide an excellent customer experience
  • Provide training, leadership and direction to Team Members within the departments, in the development and achievement of operational and budgetary goals including, sales, margins, expenses, inventory management and shrinkage control
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the Bakery/Deli Departments including scheduling of Team Members, ordering, receiving, merchandising, and accurate pricing of products for the counter set -up in order to ensure that an adequate selection is available
  • Bake a variety of products and engage in light food preparation
  • Prepare a wide variety of deli meats, cheeses, party trays, fresh salads, deli sandwiches and hot and cold entrees
  • Ensure that all Team Members always maintain the highest levels of sanitation and cleanliness while adhering to all Food Safety guidelines, procedures and requirements
  • Participate in the development and implementation of business plans that include growth targets and profitability, as well as create and execute fresh merchandising initiatives
  • Responsible for the preparation, completion, and final approval of performance reviews and development action plans of all Team Members
  • Other duties, as assigned
