About The Position

This role involves packaging, labeling, and pricing bakery products. The Bakery Clerk is responsible for maintaining stock levels and product quality by monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls. The position adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating baked goods. Additionally, the clerk assists bakery personnel with preparing, packaging, labeling, and maintaining product displays, and promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives. The role also includes stacking pallets, sorting product into correct locations, and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment. A key aspect of the role is providing a friendly and customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders via phone and in person.

Requirements

• Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bread slicer, commercial oven, etc.
• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• Food Handler certification required.

• Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
• Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
