About The Position

The Bakery and Pastry Trainee supports daily bakery and pastry production by preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting pastries and related food items according to established standards. This role is ideal for a culinary student or recent graduate who is eager to grow in a luxury hospitality environment while contributing to product quality, food safety, teamwork, and memorable guest experiences.

Responsibilities

Assist with bakery and pastry production for daily service, special events, and guest needs.
Prepare, bake, decorate, and present pastries and other food items according to recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
Apply basic bakery and pastry techniques involving starches, fats, sugars, liquids, eggs, flavorings, baking methods, and decorative presentation.
Check raw and prepared products for quality, flavor, consistency, freshness, and presentation.
Follow proper food handling, preparation, sanitation, storage, labeling, and temperature-control procedures.
Support portion control, waste reduction, and cost-conscious production while maintaining product quality.
Follow bakery and pastry department policies, safety procedures, loss-prevention requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Work collaboratively with bakery and pastry team members and other departments to support production needs and service expectations.
Organize assigned work, maintain clean and orderly work areas, and communicate operational needs or concerns to coworkers and supervisors.
Support guest satisfaction by contributing to consistent food quality, timely preparation, and professional service standards.
