We’re looking for dedicated Bagel Baker to craft our signature, freshly baked bagels to the highest quality standards while maintaining the utmost regard for health and safety regulations. A key role in delivering exceptional hospitality, our Bagel Bakers ensure that every batch meets Chompie’s standards for taste, texture, and presentation, delighting our guests with authentic, handcrafted bagels.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a bakery or commercial kitchen preferred, but not required—training provided.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques and food safety procedures.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, with a shift start of 3 am, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting 30-50 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery, including a rotating bagel oven, boiler, and mixer.
  • Must be able to operate a rotating slicer.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, mix, and bake bagels according to Chompie’s signature recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure consistency and perfection.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofing machines.
  • Work efficiently to ensure bagels are ready for morning service and throughout the day as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to support overall restaurant operations.
  • Uphold Chompie’s commitment to quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
