Bag Sewing Machine Operator
About The Position
The Bag Sewing Machine Operator will be responsible for performing all required preventative maintenance, repairs on machinery in the shipping department, and monitoring the machinery and dust systems. This role also involves ensuring product type, shipping materials, and pack counts are correct, and that all required markings and labels are in place and accurate. The operator will start, stop, load, set, and adjust automated bag sewing machines, and when necessary, operate standard sewing machines in addition to, or in place of, automated machines. The position requires adherence to food safety policies and plant safety procedures, including observing persons entering the work area and reporting unauthorized individuals. Attendance at required training is also a part of the job duties.
Requirements
- Ability to work standing up for 2-3 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift/move heavy weights (up to 110#) for scale checks every 20-30 minutes.
- High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

- Responsible for food safety by following HACCP and Food Safety policies/procedures.
- Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them, and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor.
- Attend training as required or approved by supervisor.
