About The Position

As a Backup Yard Driver at Plastipak, you safely and efficiently move materials between warehouse and production areas using a forklift, and transport trailers across the facility’s external areas as needed. The position supports Shipping & Receiving and follows company and local work rules, safety rules and policies, BOS work instructions, and SAP standards and activities. The schedule is a night shift from 5:00 p.m. to 5:10 a.m., with 12-hour shifts on a rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule. The role pays $20.50 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour night-shift differential and double-time pay on Sundays. Requirements

Ability to work the 12-hour night shift from 5:00 p.m. to 5:10 a.m. on a 3-2-2-3 schedule.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
At least one year of forklift experience.
At least six months of experience driving semi-trailers, through work experience and/or a training program.

Responsibilities

Operate a forklift to transport raw materials and finished goods between warehouse and production areas.
Load and unload trucks for Shipping & Receiving.
As a backup, move trailers from the yard area to assigned docks and secure or lock each trailer to prevent movement until it is released.
Follow company and local work rules, safety rules and policies, BOS work instructions, and SAP standards and activities.
