About The Position
Emergency Childcare Services is hiring dependable, experienced Full Time Backup Care Sitters to provide in home childcare for families. This position is best for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is comfortable caring for children of all ages, from infants through school age. Sitters will provide backup childcare to different families based on scheduled assignments, so applicants must be comfortable working with different ages, family routines, and home environments. We are looking for caregivers who are confident walking into a new home, connecting with the children, and providing excellent care from the start.
Requirements
- Previous professional childcare experience
- Experience with infants and toddlers
- Comfortable caring for multiple children at once
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Strong communication skills
- Patient, engaging, and attentive
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass required background checks

- Confident walking into a new home, connecting with the children, and providing excellent care from the start
Responsibilities
- Providing safe, attentive in home childcare
- Caring for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children
- Confidently caring for multiple children, including twins
- Preparing simple meals and snacks for children
- Diapering, bottle feeding, and assisting with naps when needed
- Engaging children in age appropriate play and activities
- Following each family's routines and instructions
- Maintaining active supervision at all times
- Keeping children's areas clean and organized during care
