About The Position

The Part-Time Backroom Coordinator at TJ Maxx is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and exemplary customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes getting merchandise to the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates on processing and merchandising; and ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded. The role coordinates with the Coordinator on Duty and management to manage priorities, monitor team productivity, provide progress updates, and address training needs. Additional responsibilities include maintaining backroom organization and safety, supporting store shrink reduction and credit and loyalty programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, labor laws, and recycling and hazardous waste programs. This position is part-time and located at the TJ Maxx store in Lexington, South Carolina. The stated starting pay range is $13.75 to $14.25 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
