About The Position

The Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while helping Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator organizes truck deliveries and back stock, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, communicates priorities and progress, and partners with management on training needs. The position also supports store safety, shrink-reduction, credit and loyalty programs, and compliance with labor laws and company procedures.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Capable of multitasking.
Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
Works effectively with peers and supervisors as a team player.
Capable of lifting heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Able to train others.
At least 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Coordinate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
