About The Position

Safety operate a Backhoe machine to dig, lift and move materials in asphalt milling operations to prepare for pavement preparation – resurfacing highways, roadways, parking lots, etc.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Backhoe Operator preferred.
Effective communication and organization skills.
Strong commitment to safety and the ability to work safety in various conditions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
Operator a backhoe to prepare and support road and pavement projects.
Work alongside milling machines to remove asphalt and prepare surfaces for paving.
Support asphalt milling crews by preparing and cleaning work areas and moving debris.
Operator other pieces of heavy equipment such as skid steers and brooms as needed.
Combines excavation and paving support roles.
Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned by supervisor.
