About The Position

US Foods is seeking a Backhaul Driver to join their team. This role involves safely driving trucks to vendors and company drop-off sites, verifying freight, and performing equipment inspections. The company emphasizes continuous growth, excellent training, and a culture of promoting from within. Backhaul Drivers will bump docks and have the opportunity to earn $33/HR. In some instances, drivers may be called upon to perform duties of a Rescue or Delivery Driver, which could include unloading and customer deliveries.

Requirements

Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required

Responsibilities

Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
May be called upon to perform duties of Rescues or Delivery Driver. Tasks would include unloading and customer deliveries.
