About The Position

US Foods is seeking Backhaul Drivers to join their team. This role involves bumping docks and earning $29.85 per hour. The schedule varies, typically starting at 4:30 AM, with some Saturdays required. Drivers may be asked to do long-distance runs within the state of Florida. The freight is minimal touch. Requirements

Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
Willingness to travel 2-3 times per week required
Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Responsibilities

Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
Must be able to perform coupling procedures for the Tractor/Trailer
