About The Position

This position is located in an office in Phoenix, AZ. The Background Screening Specialist, under supervision, will conduct background checks related to potential situations of employee misconduct. This role involves gathering information and relevant facts related to misconduct reports, recording findings, and performing additional research as needed. The specialist will conduct in-depth research into the personal and professional history of driver applicants, verifying educational credentials, employment history, credit history, and personal references. A key responsibility is checking for any criminal history, arrests, convictions, or pending charges to ensure the individual does not pose a risk to the workplace or company. The role also requires maintaining accurate records and documentation of all interviews, ensuring the security and confidentiality of sensitive information, and making recommendations regarding new hires when requested. Additionally, the specialist will provide appropriate responses to incoming callers, work with other security units and/or designated department personnel, analyze records from background investigations, and monitor request systems weekly for new orders and follow up on older ones. A crucial aspect of the role is developing an understanding of applicable regulatory and legislative requirements as they pertain to background screening to ensure company compliance. The representative will maintain a confidential, ethical, and professional manner in all interactions and proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in customer service or similar area required.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail orientated.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be a quick learner.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in transportation industry preferred.

Responsibilities
