About The Position

The 1099-Contract Investigator conducts federal background investigations on a contract basis in support of national security and suitability investigations. The position involves fieldwork, including interviews and records retrieval, and producing reports of investigations (ROIs) in compliance with applicable laws, federal standards, and federal agency regulations.

Investigators accept fieldwork assignments involving travel throughout their geographic area of responsibility. Temporary duty (TDY) assignments outside that area may also be available. Compensation is based on the number of assigned cases completed, not an annual salary. The stated compensation range is an estimate based on working 40 hours per week, from the base rate up to the Premier Contract Investigator rate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork, including interviews and retrieval of records, and produce reports of investigations (ROIs) in compliance with laws, federal standards, and federal agency regulations.
• Accept fieldwork assignments requiring travel throughout the geographic area of responsibility; opportunities may be available for temporary duty (TDY) assignments outside that area.
• Meet investigative deadlines assigned by ADC LTD NM.
• Monitor, maintain, convey, and appropriately destroy data and documents.
• Meet government and industry standards for quality, integrity, timeliness, and productivity.
• Maintain compliance with mandatory and assigned training, security, and credential requirements.
• Develop and maintain professional, courteous, and cooperative working relationships with ADC employees and contractors.
• Report trends and updates observed in the field.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
