About The Position

Seeq creates cutting-edge data analytics software for industrial process data, serving sectors like pharmaceuticals, energy, and manufacturing. Our core product is a robust calculation engine capable of executing advanced math and machine learning algorithms on streaming time-series data. By leveraging generative AI, we enhance usability and accelerate outcomes for our users. Requirements

  • Knowledge of backend technologies such as a JVM language like Kotlin, Node.js, GraphQL.
  • Proficiency in databases, distributed computing, and cloud platforms, with deep expertise in at least one of these technologies.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in software development, with a solid record of designing, building and evolving complex software systems over a period of years.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Rust, C++, etc.
  • Expertise in backend development for data-intensive applications.
  • Experience working with databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with great attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country in which you reside.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex software systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, guiding them in best practices and helping them grow their skills.
  • Be a technical leader, driving innovation and spearheading the implementation of new technologies and frameworks.
  • Design and build with elegance, extensibility, and maintainability as guiding principles.
  • Deliver products and features swiftly, showcasing proficiency in a continuous delivery model.
  • Advocate for unit testing, continuous integration, and elegant solutions.
  • Immediately address bugs and eliminate technical debt while refactoring code.
  • Collaborate through pair programming and contribute to team acceleration.
  • Review and provide actionable feedback on code.
  • Actively engage with customers to articulate the rationale behind features and explain pain points.
  • Bring fresh technologies and methodologies to the team, establishing yourself as a technological thought leader.
  • Mentor colleagues, meeting deadlines through effective planning, prioritization, and accurate estimates.
  • Build and debug reliable, maintainable, and extensible applications from browser to database.
  • Work seamlessly across boundaries for the benefit of the product and its users.
