About The Position

Sheer Health is revolutionizing the way people understand their health insurance benefits, their medical bills, and healthcare data. By utilizing cutting-edge technology and advanced data analytics, we empower our members to take control of their medical expenses and understand their healthcare data better. We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our growing team to help us scale our platform and enhance our data processing capabilities. We are looking for a motivated and innovative Software Engineer with expertise in backend and data engineering to play a key role in building out our platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing APIs, integrating with external APIs, transforming and contextualizing data, and making it accessible for the rest of the company. As an early hire, this role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact projects and help set the direction and culture of the company going forward.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on backend and data engineering.
Strong proficiency in a programming language such as Go, Java, C++, with experience in building and maintaining production systems.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or another equivalent cloud platform.
Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable and performant APIs.
Knowledge of data integration, transformation, and processing techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the healthcare domain, particularly with medical claims and clinical data.
Familiarity with other programming languages and technologies.

Responsibilities
