About The Position

Resend is growing fast, and there are now over 1 million developers using it. We, in the Core Sending team, are responsible for building and maintaining the core components of Resend that handle sending transactional and marketing emails. This role is fully remote-based in UTC-5 to UTC0 time zones, with some expected travel for team off-sites, conferences, meetups, and more.

Requirements

8+ years of back-end engineering with a focus on cloud infrastructure
Are fluent in writing and speaking English
Can consistently work in the Americas timezone
Thrive in open-ended problems and situations
Have supported large workloads on AWS
You love helping other developers
“Default to action” kind of person
Hands-on on solving problems
Experience with event-driven systems at scale. Kafka, SQS/SNS, or similar.

Responsibilities

Help define the architecture to support millions of daily API requests
Build and scale infrastructure to send dozens of millions of emails per day
Improve high availability across distributed applications
Scale databases like Postgres and Clickhouse to ensure that they are performant
Enhance observability by using monitoring tools like Datadog
Refine disaster recovery plans to ensure that recovery is quick and reliable
Help to build our infrastructure with IaC frameworks like CDK and TF
Work with Typescript and Golang
Design and operate async pipelines (queues, streams, idempotency, retries, DLQs) that move tens of millions of messages per day
Be on-call rotation (for critical services)
