About The Position

Join a pioneering team building regulatory and compliance-driven data solutions for a global satellite communications service. As a Backend Developer, you’ll blend data and software engineering, delivering greenfield projects and enhancing mission-critical systems. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of data engineering, including data modeling, pipeline development, and data warehouse design.
  • 3+ years professional software development experience building production backend services.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Strong experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, DynamoDB).

Nice To Haves

  • Event-driven architecture (Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS/SNS).
  • Serverless development on AWS.
  • Infrastructure as code (CDK, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance or telecommunications.
  • AWS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize logical/physical data models and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to consolidate compliance data.
  • Build and maintain event-driven integration components, including AWS Lambda functions and Step Functions workflows.
  • Develop robust backend services, APIs, workflow orchestrations, and dashboard backends to support regulatory needs.
  • Write, test, and deploy clean, maintainable, and secure production code for critical systems.
  • Implement rigorous data quality checks, validation, and monitoring for compliance-critical datasets.
  • Enhance existing backend services to meet evolving compliance requirements and support new jurisdictions.
  • Build components to handle sensitive regulatory data, ensuring encryption and access controls are enforced.
  • Contribute to self-service analytics platforms by developing reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Maintain and monitor production systems with comprehensive logging, alarming, and automated diagnostics.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile sprint ceremonies.
