About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Direct Care Worker for their Life Skills Program. This program is a highly structured, group-based therapeutic program for adolescents aged 12-18 who have major mental illness and are experiencing disruptions in their home, school, or community. The Direct Care Worker will be part of a team providing a safe and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in and comprehend the English language, including clearly documenting individual progress and activities in program records
• Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office, required
• Ability to work as a member of a team and to function independently
• Must have valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle
• Bachelor’s degree required

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with individuals with major mental health needs preferred

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with enrolled youth
• Providing milieu supervision and support
• Planning and facilitating activity-based groups
• Communicating clients’ progress in meetings and documentation
• Collaborating with clinical staff in individualized treatment planning and implementation
• Promoting the human rights of individuals through a commitment to strengths-based, culturally competent, and individualized support
