About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain and repair the machines that head, gut, and skin fish. Special training on the machine is given by the factory. Specific duties include training Baader machine operators in safe and efficient operation, participating in and training operators in cleaning activities, repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems of all Baader machines, communicating with quality control and production personnel to ensure highest yield values are achieved, making adjustments to machines to ensure high yields, completing related maintenance documentation, setting and adjusting spike chain guides, knives, and sliding blocks, testing machines to verify step motors and tooling are set up and running properly, and utilizing downtime to maintain machines mechanically and electrically to prevent downtime during production. This role is responsible for a 12-hour shift maintaining production with Baader equipment, communicating and training upcoming technical personnel, greasing machines daily, and changing and sharpening knives daily. The ability to speak and communicate in English is required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Baader equipment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to adjust Baader machines in order to increase production, quality, and recovery.
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ability to recognize, correct, and report safety hazards.
  • Pleasant and professional manner in dealing with co-workers, supervisors, employees, outside agencies, and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language, comprehending, speaking, reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to function as part of the team, with co-workers, supervisor, and other departments.
  • Prompt arrival and attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Train Baader machine operators in a safe and efficient operation.
  • Participate and train operators in cleaning activities, which occur prior to, and following production periods.
  • Repairs and maintains the mechanical and electrical systems of all Baader machines. Including chain drives, bearings, belt drives, back guides, pulleys, step motors, back guides, bone guides.
  • Communicates with quality control and production personnel to ensure highest yield values are achieved.
  • Makes adjustments to machines to ensure that high yields are being successfully achieved.
  • Completes related maintenance documentation including machine log books, work orders, test reports, part inventory and parts order logs.
  • Set and adjusts spike chain guides, knives, sliding blocks in accordance with the operation manuals and safety procedures.
  • Tests the machines to verify step motors and tooling are set up and running properly.
  • Utilize down time to maintain machines mechanically and electrically to prevent down time during production.
  • Responsible for a 12 hours shift maintaining production with Baader equipment.
  • Communicate and train upcoming technical personnel.
  • Grease machines daily
  • Change and sharpen knives daily.
  • Speaks and communicates English
  • Other duties as assigned.
