About The Position

Salsify is seeking a B2B Content Marketing Manager who is a recognized thought leader and authority in the business-to-business (B2B) industrial ecommerce space. This role will focus on expanding our B2B thought leadership program by creating high-value, high-quality content for B2B ecommerce leaders. The manager will own the content strategy, editorial direction, and roadmap for our B2B topic category, ensuring content is unique, SEO/AEO optimized, and supports marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate understands the challenges B2B leaders face and can leverage AI search and LLMs in content creation.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of experience as an industry journalist, senior content strategist, or recognized thought leader in B2B ecommerce, distribution, or manufacturing.
  • Deep domain expertise in enterprise manufacturers and/or distributors with B2B selling models, including go-to-market strategies and the role of product data and digital transformation.
  • Exceptional writing abilities across premium long-form and short-form content, with a proven track record of publishing content that shapes industry opinions.
  • Advanced, up-to-date knowledge of technical SEO and AEO frameworks, with practical understanding of structuring content for AI search models.
  • Strong research, fact-checking, executive interviewing, and data-analysis abilities.
  • Exceptional project management skills and strategic autonomy, with the ability to build a content roadmap from scratch and deliver assets with minimal oversight.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working with executive stakeholders, web, creative, marketing, and product teams.
  • Familiarity with the buying dynamics of dealer-, distributor-, and channel-led commerce and industrial sectors (e.g., industrial supplies, MRO, electrical, building materials, janitorial, safety, chemical pharmaceuticals, HVACR, plumbing/PVF).

Nice To Haves

  • Existing personal brand, following, or frequent publication record within the enterprise technology or industrial distribution, B2B manufacturing, or MRO ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with supporting technologies such as product information management (PIM) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and ecommerce platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive B2B content calendar and strategy to establish Salsify as a definitive authority.
  • Support the advanced content marketing process, including trend research, ideation, publication, promotion, measurement, and optimization.
  • Create deeply researched thought-leadership content such as whitepapers, trend reports, and strategic blogs.
  • Copy edit and refine core content assets to ensure adherence to brand voice, tone, and editorial guidelines.
  • Write authoritative video scripts and multimedia narratives that translate complex concepts into engaging content.
  • Structure and optimize digital assets for SEO and AEO, ensuring visibility across search engines and AI models.
  • Conduct interviews with C-suite executives and SMEs to gather insights and market trends.
  • Track and report on content performance and attribution metrics, collaborating with marketing leadership to assess effectiveness and meet KPIs.
