About The Position
This position is responsible for handling livestock. Duties include sort count weigh tattoo and pen all animals in a hog yard environment; learn Tyson Pork Procurement Programs carcass merit kill sheet information weight docks and other buying procedures. Associate hog buyer also acts as a station relief buyer in absence of manager for training and vacation relief.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in animal science or agriculture preferred
- Livestock experience required
- Swine or cattle experience preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to communicate efficiently with drivers
- Must be highly motivated in running a successful business
- Basic computer skills required
- Overnight travel required
- Resume must be submitted with application to be eligible for consideration
- Internal hourly disqualifiers: 6 attendance points, Any suspension on record in the last 12 months
- Successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
