About The Position

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Azure SysOps Architect to join their team. This role involves implementing and operating Azure infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and high availability. The architect will also focus on cloud cost optimization, capacity planning, and providing tier-3/4 support. A key aspect of the role is driving automation for monitoring, alerting, and remediation, and partnering with cross-functional teams on Azure DevOps governance and agile methodologies. The position requires producing technical documentation and assessments, deploying and maintaining Bicep, building and managing containerized workloads, and troubleshooting production instances. Automation of patching, security hardening, and system updates is crucial, as is standardizing environment builds for consistency across development, testing, and production environments. The role demands troubleshooting of various Azure resource instances.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep and/or Terraform), including codifying security controls.
  • Experience designing and implementing secure Azure platform and application landing zones.
  • Proficiency in automating Day 2 operational and security tasks for cloud applications.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevSecOps tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure and Octopus Deploy, including deploying and managing App Services, .NET web apps, Azure SQL Databases, and related services, with security best practices.
  • Candidate must be a cross between Azure Security/Infra and DevOps.
  • An Azure Architect who has experience and has been focused in security (overall app and azure network security, including attacks) as well as overall network design (how many subnets do you need, what cidr ranges for each subnet, when do you create a new subnet or spoke off the hub, etc) and troubleshooting app problems in that network and over all network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and operates Azure infrastructure using Bicep (IaC)
  • Ensures security, scalability, and high availability across infrastructure platforms.
  • Supports cloud cost optimization and capacity planning.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation, providing tier-3/4 support for critical infrastructure services.
  • Participates in incident response and root-cause analysis for infrastructure and cloud issues.
  • Drives automation of monitoring, alerting, and remediation workflows.
  • Partners with cross functional teams to align delivery models
  • Azure DevOps governance for Infrastructure projects — workflow / agile methodology
  • Produces technical assessments / documentation upholding standards and providing recommendations for management.
  • Deploys and maintains Biceps
  • Builds and deploys containerized workloads; manages scaling, upgrades, and patching.
  • Troubleshoots production instances.
  • Automates patching, security hardening, and system updates.
  • Standardizes environment builds and enforces consistency across dev/test/prod.
  • Troubleshoots development, QA, CA and production Azure resource instances
