About The Position

TEKsystems is partnering with a leading global manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Azure Synapse Data Engineer for a high-impact contract engagement. This opportunity will support critical analytics and data initiatives while the client's internal team focuses on a large-scale ERP transformation program. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Azure data engineering professional who can immediately contribute across data warehousing, pipeline development, and production support activities.

Requirements

Azure Synapse Analytics
Spark SQL and/or T-SQL
Python, ideally PySpark
Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, or Fabric Data Factory
Synapse Notebooks, Fabric Notebooks, or Jupyter Notebooks
REST API integrations
Data warehouse design and data modeling
Git and CI/CD best practices
Strong communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
Must be able to work direct W2 for any US employer.

Nice To Haves

SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, BusinessObjects, or Data Services
Power BI Administration
ERP migration projects

Responsibilities

Build and enhance bronze, silver, and gold layer data warehouse structures within Azure Synapse
Develop and maintain Synapse pipelines, notebooks, tables, and views
Support enterprise BI reporting requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures
Integrate data from REST APIs and enterprise systems
Partner with Data Architects to implement scalable data models
Support ticket-driven enhancement and support requests
Manage data access requests and operational support activities
