About The Position

We are seeking an AZ Driver to support the safe and efficient transportation of client cargo while delivering a world-class customer experience to our valued clients and partners. In this role, you will ensure compliance with KWE and governmental regulatory policies and procedures while representing the KWE brand with professionalism and pride as a forward-facing ambassador of the business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
  • Technically proficient with mobile devices/tablets
  • Valid driver’s license and AZ truck license
  • Clean CVOR

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a minimum 3 years of Canadian AZ driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key, customer facing point of contact with our valued KWE clients by communicating in a positive, proactive manner and providing support as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and mechanical integrity of KWE assets and work closely with operations management to address any/all mechanical or aesthetic concerns with assigned equipment (trucks/trailers).
  • Login to telematics/ELD system at the start of the shift and logout at end of the shift to maintain accurate HoS records.
  • Complete MoT pre-trip inspections of the truck and trailer prior to departure and, log data into telematics/ELD system; be aware of signs of theft or tampering and report it immediately to operations management.
  • Utilize TMS mobile application via phone/tablet to capture shipper and receiver signatures and capture photos of cargo at the time of loading/unloading for uploading to TMS platform.
  • Maintain active and positive communications with KWE dispatch.
  • Fuel-up vehicle/visit truck wash station regularly as advised by the KWE dispatch team.
  • Be present during loading and offloading of goods; secure cargo against theft or tampering.
  • Verify documentation to ensure that the information on the documentation matches the cargo.
  • Sign off on received cargo noting any discrepancies.
  • Ensure cargo is properly blocked and braced prior to departure.
  • Ensure adherence to all government/MoT regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Assist the division/department manager in the effective maintenance of the company’s ISO Policies.
  • Participate in meetings and overall objectives for the terminal.
  • Comply with all KWE safety policies, practices and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to operations management and/or Human Resources.
