The AZ Driver will be responsible for completing long haul deliveries primarily throughout Ontario, within the Canada South of 60, 7-day Cycle 1, utilizing various trailer setups. Hauling duties include, but are not limited to, recycling, refuse, heavy equipment, landscaping supplies, aggregates, and bins. Third-party and inter-company hauling throughout Canada and the United States may also be required. The home terminal for this position is located at 219 Industrial Park Crescent in Sault Ste. Marie, where in-person applications are accepted. GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking AZ drivers to join the team at 219 Industrial Park Crescent as tractor trailer and dump truck operators. Drivers will deliver aggregates and other materials to various projects throughout Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District. Tractor trailer work may also involve delivering product and material to various locations across Canada and the United States. Requirements

Valid AZ license
Clean drivers abstract and CVOR
Must be physically fit to be successful in the position
Must be able to adapt to daily changes in project assignment to satisfy the needs of the customer
Able to work Saturdays and complete long-haul transport when required
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required
Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date

Nice To Haves

Experience with heavy hauling and the operation of walking floor trailers
Experience in walking floor, heavy and over-sized loads, live-bottom and end dump trailer work, flat deck and float transportation

Responsibilities

Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established company policies and contract obligations
Responsible for daily electronic driving log book and inspections of assigned assets
Complete daily routes as assigned by the Route supervisors
Satisfy customer needs for service
Perform end of day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner
May perform some additional responsibilities as assigned by the Route Supervisors
Adhere to the “Safe For Life” practice within the workplace
