About The Position

At GFL, our AZ Drivers do more than transport materials—they represent our commitment to safety, efficiency, and reliability. In this key role, you will operate various straight truck and tractor-trailer combinations to support our Soil Division. You will be responsible for completing routes North of Sault Ste. Marie, including winter driving to mine sites, as well as managing cross-border runs, ensuring we continue to serve our customers safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience.
• Demonstrated experience with dump trucks, walking floors, heavy/over-sized loads, flat decks, and float transportation.
• Ability to adapt to daily changes in project assignments and work weekends or nights when required.
• Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles.
• Must be physically fit to succeed in the position.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate various straight truck and tractor-trailer combinations, including Roll-Off truck and pup combinations, to support the Soil Division.
• Complete routes North of Sault Ste. Marie, including winter operations on Highway 17 N to service the Westdome Gold Mine location on Paint Lake Rd.
• Complete daily AZ runs to Michigan (Traverse City and Dafter, MI) as required.
• Conduct thorough electronic driving logbook entries and daily inspections of assigned assets.
• Perform end-of-day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork; promptly report any route hazards or safety incidents to Route Supervisors.
• Ensure service is completed in strict accordance with contract obligations, traffic laws, and GFL’s “Safe For Life” practices.
• Work closely with supervisors to ensure routes are completed in a timely and safe manner.
• Perform other operational duties, including dump truck and walking floor operations, as assigned by leadership.
