About The Position

AZ Drivers support cross‑border waste transportation between Reworld facilities and client sites throughout the GTA, Buffalo/Niagara region, Indianapolis, and Quebec. The role requires a valid passport and strict compliance with Canadian and U.S. regulatory standards governing hazardous and non‑hazardous materials. Drivers operate tankers, dry vans, and walking‑floor trailers and serve as key customer‑facing representatives of the company. Professional communication, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to safety are critical to performing this work effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid AZ license (or Class 1 equivalent).
  • Valid Z endorsement.
  • MELT training completed and current.
  • Valid TDG training certificate.
  • Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract.
  • Understanding of placarding, TDG labeling, manifesting, and REG 347 compliance.
  • Ability to use tablets and electronic logging devices.
  • Must be eligible for cross‑border travel and hold a valid passport.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Non‑restricted license strongly preferred (manual transmission experience is an asset).
  • Tanker experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous waste handling, vacuum units, or lab‑pack work is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles safely and in compliance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, NSC standards, TDG requirements, and applicable U.S. DOT regulations.
  • Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections per NSC Standard 13.
  • Transport hazardous and non‑hazardous waste materials, ensuring all TDG placards, labels, and documentation (including REG 347) are accurate.
  • Complete pickups across the GTA, Buffalo/Niagara region, Indianapolis, and Quebec, including required cross‑border travel.
  • Secure loads, label containers, and ensure full compliance with provincial and federal cargo‑securement standards.
  • Complete all required paperwork: manifests, electronic logs, timesheets, inspection reports, expense sheets, and job‑specific forms.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, site personnel, and operations teams.
  • Operate tankers, walking‑floor trailers, and dry vans; forklift or heavy‑equipment experience is considered an asset.
  • Complete overnight stays as required; hotel accommodations and per diem provided.
  • Demonstrate strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to work independently, including in remote areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support field and operational needs.
