About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring an AWS File Transfer Engineer. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining file-based integration services using AWS Transfer Family, supporting various protocols like SFTP, FTPS, FTP, and AS2. The engineer will also develop AWS Lambda functions for workflow automation, configure and manage core AWS services, build self-service integration capabilities, and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD. The position requires establishing integration architecture guidelines, leading technical discussions, and designing high-availability solutions that comply with security policies. Responsibilities include providing end-to-end support, developing custom monitoring solutions, participating in on-call rotations, conducting root cause analysis, and maintaining documentation. Collaboration with stakeholders, participation in code reviews, and addressing technical debt are also key aspects of the role. This is a hybrid position located in San Francisco, CA / Salt Lake City, UT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • 2+ years of software development or Systems Integration experience.
  • 2+ years of enterprise file transfer experience (any platform/technology).
  • 2+ years designing and implementing file-based integration services using AWS Transfer Family (SFTP, FTPS), Lambda/Python, and SNS.
  • 1+ year Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Working knowledge of security protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, OAuth).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar).
  • Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Availability for on-call rotation support.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise file transfer platforms (IBM Sterling File Gateway, Axway, or similar).
  • 2+ years' experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) in hybrid environments (On-Premises and AWS EC2).
  • Experience with IBM Secure Proxy, Axway Secure Transport, Connect:Direct, or Sterling Control Center.
  • Knowledge of banking/financial industry regulations and compliance requirements (PCI-DSS, SOX, data privacy).
  • Familiarity with Dynatrace APM or similar application performance monitoring tools.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or Security Specialty).
  • Experience in mission-driven or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain file-based integration services using AWS Transfer Family supporting SFTP, FTPS, FTP, and AS2 protocols.
  • Develop and deploy AWS Lambda functions using Python for workflow automation and file processing.
  • Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, IAM roles/policies, Security Groups, Load Balancers, Route53, and SNS.
  • Build self-service integration capabilities using native AWS services.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Establish and maintain integration architecture guidelines, principles, and best practices for cloud migration initiatives.
  • Lead technical discussions across product teams to ensure consistent implementation patterns.
  • Design high-availability, load-balanced solutions with automated failover capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions comply with Bank security policies and risk management requirements.
  • Provide end-to-end support for integration solutions, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Develop custom monitoring and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Grafana, and other monitoring platforms.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 production support.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects and incidents; implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and runbooks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow team development best practices using version control systems (Git).
  • Identify and address technical debt while balancing feature delivery.
  • Escalate risk-based decisions appropriately through established channels.
