AWS Database Engineer (RedShift & RDS)
About The Position
As an AWS DevOps Engineer with a database focus, you will design, administer, and support AWS cloud infrastructure, Amazon Redshift and RDS databases, and DevOps automation for a client in the financial services sector. The role includes managing and optimizing AWS services, database administration, deployment and infrastructure automation, and troubleshooting production issues to support system reliability and availability. In the assigned role of Infrastructure Consultant 2, you will collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, assess IT infrastructure, contribute to scalable and cost-effective solution designs, coordinate releases and maintenance, analyze performance, support security and continuity activities, identify automation opportunities, and document technical knowledge. The Infosys Financial Services unit works on digital transformation initiatives for financial institutions across banking, wealth management, and insurance.
Requirements
- Ability to manage and optimize AWS services, including Amazon Redshift and RDS.
- Database administration experience or capability, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and monitoring.
- Ability to automate deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and operational processes.
- Understanding of production troubleshooting and support for system reliability and availability.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive specialty experience in lieu of each year of education.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer-based visa sponsorship; Infosys cannot provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

- Python or Bash automation experience.
- Experience with Aurora or PostgreSQL.
- Database migration experience using AWS DMS.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Understanding of infrastructure as code development and management using Terraform.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and document findings and preventive recommendations.
- Evaluate client IT infrastructure, prepare actionable assessment reports, and support due diligence on infrastructure maturity and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure designs, review reusable components, and develop technical documentation for deployed systems.
- Align release schedules and environment readiness, execute deployments, perform post-deployment testing, and manage version control.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, emergency fixes, and technology upgrades while integrating changes into existing systems and processes.
- Analyze performance data, coordinate insights on system behavior, and support capacity planning.
- Conduct security checks, recovery drills, and compliance audits; implement security measures and coordinate continuity plans.
- Gather feedback, analyze infrastructure processes, identify automation opportunities, and propose efficiency improvements.
- Liaise with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams and document project requirements.
- Develop a centralized repository of technical and procedural knowledge, using insights from other projects to improve efficiency and retain expertise.
