The Cybersecurity Architect will play an integral role with the execution of a key Federal program. Analyzes enterprise and AWS cloud architecture to identify security gaps and recommend improvements aligned with DoD and industry standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years in cybersecurity architecture (cloud + enterprise)
- Strong experience with AWS environments and DoD security requirements
- CISSP (foundational requirement for most architect roles)
- CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) – critical for AWS/cloud environments
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Active TS/SCI with SCI Polygraph (or eligible)
Nice To Haves
- SABSA (Security Architecture)
- TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture)
- CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
Responsibilities
- Assess security architecture across enterprise systems and AWS cloud environments
- Evaluate how AWS environments are governed, provisioned, operated, and consumed
- Analyze architecture within AWS IL4 (or similar regulated environments)
- Identify security gaps across: System design, Cloud configurations, Policy enforcement, Operational processes
- Evaluate alignment with: AWS Well-Architected Framework, DoD and federal security guidance, Zero Trust and defense-in-depth principles
- Provide target-state architecture recommendations
- Support identification of policy, operational, and technical deficiencies
