About The Position

CGI is seeking an AWS Application Production Support Engineer to support multiple enterprise applications running in AWS within a large financial services environment. This role is responsible for maintaining operational visibility across applications and interfaces, identifying production issues, and performing timely technical triage. The engineer will monitor application interfaces, transactions, batch jobs, and completion checkpoints; investigate alerts through AWS consoles and logs; use SQL and observability tools to identify failure points; and trace transactions across interconnected systems. The individual will document diagnostic findings and work closely with production support, development, infrastructure, observability, and customer teams to resolve or appropriately route incidents. This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands on Level 2 application or production support experience across enterprise applications.
  • Practical understanding of AWS, including the ability to navigate the AWS console and locate relevant application and infrastructure logs.
  • Strong incident triage and troubleshooting skills.
  • Intermediate SQL skills for production investigation and transaction analysis.
  • Experience monitoring and tracing transactions, interfaces, batch jobs, and application workflows.
  • Experience analyzing logs and identifying likely failure points across interconnected applications.
  • Experience working with operational dashboards, including maintaining or modifying monitoring views.
  • Ability to provide complete diagnostic information and accurately route issues to the appropriate support or development team.
  • Experience supporting multiple enterprise applications simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and escalation judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively across production support, development, infrastructure, and customer facing teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Splunk or comparable observability/log analysis platforms is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 production support across multiple enterprise applications.
  • Monitor application interfaces, transactions, batch jobs, checkpoints, and operational dashboards.
  • Navigate the AWS console and identify relevant application and infrastructure logs.
  • Perform structured incident triage and determine likely failure points.
  • Use SQL to investigate application, transaction, and interface issues.
  • Use Splunk or comparable observability tools to trace transactions and analyze logs.
  • Perform end to end transaction and interface monitoring across multiple applications.
  • Investigate application alerts, failed jobs, transaction failures, and operational discrepancies.
  • Develop or modify operational Splunk dashboards used for production monitoring.
  • Document technical findings and provide complete diagnostic information when escalating incidents.
  • Coordinate resolution with other L2 teams, developers, SMEs, infrastructure teams, and application customers.
  • Maintain clear communication during production incidents and shift handoffs.
