About The Position

The Awards & Special Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of assigned DGA special events including DGA Awards, DGA Student Spotlight Awards, Digital Day, the Directors Guild Foundation Golf Tournament, and DGA Honors in addition to ongoing Special Projects Committee and Council events and activities. The department ensures the successful delivery of programs and events that celebrate directorial achievement, strengthen member engagement, foster industry relationships, and advance the Guild’s mission.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant event experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Professional phone etiquette
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud programs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience hosting Zoom webinars and meetings a plus
  • Love of film & television encouraged

  • Collaborate, report to and work with multiple managers on various projects.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Create and execute event Run of Show (ROS) to ensure smooth and efficient event execution.
  • Prepare and verify event setup several hours before the start time.
  • Collaborate as a flexible team player, willingly taking on diverse responsibilities to achieve shared goals.
  • Remain on-site until all attendees have departed, ensuring the check-in area is thoroughly cleaned and organized after each event.
