Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional
About The Position
Direct Support Professionals provide support and supervision to individuals who have developmental, mental health, or physical disabilities. This role involves assisting individuals with daily routines, administering medications, providing transportation, and documenting services. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping others, is flexible and dependable, and embodies the company's core values. This position is rewarding as it allows for building relationships, participating in new experiences, and making a daily difference in the lives of others. The company is undergoing a transition where multiple long-term care companies are being combined under a new entity, Synova Group, which will manage employee services.
Requirements
- Be 18 years or older.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Have access to an insured vehicle.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Need to pass a DHS background study.
- Exhibit basic computer skills to be successful in this position.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma preferred.
- One year of experience delivering services to individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Helps to establish and keep community relationships and friendships.
- Assists individuals with daily routines including, but not limited to, household tasks, cooking and eating, individual self-care, socializing, use of leisure time, health and safety, money management and behavior management.
- Administers medications.
- Provides transportation.
- Documents services and events through an online computer program.
