About The Position

North Suffolk is hiring Awake Overnight Counselors to provide high-quality direct care to adults with developmental disabilities in residential homes in Revere. Counselors provide care and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and remain awake and available during the overnight shift until residents have left the program or morning staff arrive. The role is open to entry-level and experienced candidates, including those willing to learn.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Zero to six years of related experience, depending on DSP level, providing child care, elder care, or direct support to people with developmental disabilities; alternatively, experience supporting individuals in a mental health, special education, or other human services setting.
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
Must be MAP certified or able to become MAP certified.
CPR/First Aid certification within five months of hire; training is provided.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

Remain awake and available to individuals during the overnight shift until they have left the residential program or morning staff arrive.
Perform hourly security checks to help ensure the safety of individuals and the facility.
Document each individual’s progress in confidential records.
Complete cleaning checklist tasks and other duties based on individuals’ needs and schedules.
Write daily notes at the end of the shift as needed, noting incidents and maintaining regular communication with team members.
Complete medication counts.
