The Assistant Vice President, Technical Sourcing is responsible for leading and optimizing the sourcing of technical products and services across AT&T. This executive leader will define sourcing strategy, oversee commercial negotiations, manage key supplier relationships, and ensure procurement activities align with business priorities, financial objectives, and regulatory requirements. The role partners closely with senior leaders across Technology, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions that support AT&T’s long-term strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong experience leading large-scale sourcing programs involving technical products, services, or technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier performance across enterprise environments.
  • Knowledge of procurement governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Track record of driving operational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • Experience operating within highly complex, matrixed organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives for technical products and services, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, quality expectations, and cost targets.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, supplier rationalization plans, and competitive bid processes that maximize value and reduce risk.
  • Structure, negotiate, approve, and manage complex commercial contracts and subcontracts while ensuring compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain executive-level supplier relationships and oversee supplier performance management, governance, and accountability programs.
  • Drive transformation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sourcing effectiveness, operational efficiency, and scalability.
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, KPIs, and program performance to ensure delivery against business commitments and financial targets.
  • Partner across business units to align sourcing initiatives with technology roadmaps, operational priorities, and strategic investments.
  • Advise senior leadership on contractual rights, obligations, supplier strategies, and commercial risk mitigation.
