About The Position

Responsible for the overall direction and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to patients. Provides leadership in the execution of operational and strategic goals and objectives of assigned nursing departments/service lines. Ensures quality care that is consistent with organizational and regulatory standards. Assumes ultimate responsibility for outcomes related to the performance of the nursing staff and professional development. Directly supervises Nurse Managers/ Directors in assigned departments. Assumes budgetary and fiscal responsibility for assigned areas. The AVP of TUHS Perioperative Services will lead Perianesthesia, Pre-admission Testing, and Business/Supply Chain operations system-wide. Inclusive of Temple University Hospital, Fox Chase Cancer Center, TUH-Jeanes Campus, Chestnut Hill Hospital, and Women & Families Hospital. Responsible for campus alignment of operations, clinical practice, and policies. The AVP will have experience in navigating a highly matrixed organization with regular engagement and collaboration with system-level executives, ensuring alignment of initiatives in Perioperative Services are integrated with system strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Required
  • Master's Degree Nursing or Business Administration Required or Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required
  • 7 years experience in Nursing management role Required
  • 10+ years experience as an RN in a clinical area of perioperative/perianesthesia services Required
  • PA Registered Nurse License Required or Multi State Compact RN License Required
  • Post Anesthesia Nurse Certification Required or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse Required or Nurse Executive Board Certification Required or Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification Required
