About The Position

The Pharmacy Industry Relations AVP has direct oversight of more than $400 million in annual rebate revenue and plays a significant strategic role in the formulary management of more than $3 billion of pharmaceutical expense. This position is responsible for pharmacy contract negotiations and contract coordination for all Select Health lines of business including Commercial, Medicare Part D, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), and rebate aggregation. In addition, this position is responsible for the billing, collection and reporting of all pharmaceutical company rebates. This includes responsibility for the creation and maintenance of all financial reporting controls relative to the rebate processes. Responsible for the contracting and maintenance of the Scripius Pharmacy network comprised of 60,000 pharmacies nationwide. This role is hybrid and will require travel to areas where Intermountain conducts business. Candidates who live in, or are willing to relocate to, Utah, are preferred. Currently, we are not hiring remote workers in the following states: CA, CT, HI, IL, NY, RI, VT, and WA. Please note that a video interview through Microsoft Teams will be required as well as potential onsite interviews and meetings

Requirements

  • Pharm D. degree or Masters degree from an accredited school of pharmacy (degree will be verified).
  • State license to practice pharmacy and dispense controlled substances.
  • Demonstrated progressive pharmacy practice experience in a managed care, specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy or hospital environment, which includes significant and progressive pharmaceutical contract negotiations experience.
  • Demonstrated and progressive Pharmacy Benefits Management experience.
  • Demonstrated successful leadership experience.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of time annually.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Chief Pharmacy Officer for Select Health and Scripius, this leadership position directs Contracts Manager, Manager of Network Contracts and Manager of Industry Relations leading to significant strategic formulary management compliant with contracts.
  • Sets strategy directs and has oversite of a Value Assessment Committee to assure the ability to hit financial rebate and discount targets and has accountability to understand and oversee data analysis in order to optimize rebate growth opportunities.
  • Negotiates with pharmaceutical companies and other vendors to maximize rebate revenue and assure competitive discounts to control pharmacy spend.
  • Optimize relationships and opportunities with current and potential PBM and rebate aggregator clients.
  • Oversee billing and reporting of rebate revenue and discounts for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the proprietary Scripius Rebate Management Tool including strategic development, operations, deployment and contractor coordination.
  • Active member of the Scripius Executive Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for the oversight, management and contracting of the Scripius Pharmacy Network.
