About The Position

The AVP Corporate Banking Manager is responsible for leading the Account Executive and Business Banking teams to achieve loan and deposit production goals while maintaining strong credit quality within the loan portfolio. This role is focused on portfolio growth, strategic oversight, and team development, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in commercial lending, loan structuring, and deposit portfolio management.
  • Proven business development and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and credit underwriting expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with commercial loan documentation: real property, UCC filings, titled assets, equipment, and pledged contracts.
  • Working knowledge of business entity structures and documentation (e.g., LLCs, partnerships, trusts, corporations).
  • Customer service mindset with experience interacting with borrowers, title/escrow officers, and legal entities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience in commercial lending and deposit relationship management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading commercial banking teams with a focus on growth and risk management.
  • Data-driven leadership style with a commitment to inclusion and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervisory responsibility for the Account Executive and Business Banking teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead teams to deliver business banking products and services while fostering strong client relationships.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop team members.
  • Perform due diligence and ensure commercial loan requests comply with internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct or review credit analysis for commercial loans, including industry, business, and financial analysis.
  • Make credit decisions within delegated authority or seek appropriate approvals when needed.
  • Prepare and review pre-flight packages and credit approval recommendations for loan submissions.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and documentation teams to complete and process commercial loan applications.
  • Maintain and organize accurate commercial loan documentation and files.
  • Provide loan structure insights, industry analysis, and inspection findings for underwriting support.
  • Coordinate third-party reports to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work with portfolio managers to monitor covenants, financial ticklers, and required documentation.
  • Guide staff in developing loan and deposit pipelines through defined prospecting activities and KPIs.
  • Support cross-training and professional development across the department.
  • Assist with new business acquisition and relationship retention.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of loan programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
