About The Position

The Corporate/Investment Banking Middle Office AVP oversees the closing and setting up syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, ensuring compliance with credit agreements and accurate booking of facilities and amendments. The role leads end-to-end operational processes, partners with key stakeholders, and drives operational excellence to support Corporate and Investment Banking activities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of syndicated and bilateral loan products, credit facilities, loan documentation, and closing processes.
  • Experience with reviewing and interpreting credit agreements, legal documentation, and loan-related operational requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance requirements within a banking environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience with leading, coaching, and developing analysts or junior team members.
  • Strong ability to effectively collaborate with Front Office, Operations, and other business partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to issue identification and resolution.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end closing of syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Partner with Front Office, Operations, Legal, Credit, Compliance, and other stakeholders to facilitate successful transaction execution and deliver exceptional service.
  • Review and validate closing documentation, approvals, onboarding completeness, and conditions precedent to funding.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for loan products, operational processes, and internal systems.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to analysts, ensuring high-quality execution and professional development.
  • Review and approve facility, fee, and related transaction bookings within the Bank's systems of record.
  • Monitor operational activities through reporting and reconciliation tools to maintain a strong control environment and data integrity.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), risk metrics, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies.
  • Identify operational risks, resolve issues proactively, and escalate matters appropriately to support timely resolution.
  • Drive process improvements, enhance controls, and promote operational efficiency across the team.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and management reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture while coaching and developing talent.
  • Execute additional Corporate and Investment Banking-related projects and responsibilities as assigned.
